About the Course

Continuing Education courses are offered on an as-requested basis.

The eight hour course is designed to provide continuing education credits to qualified individuals on the basics of cross connection control and backflow prevention. Topics of discussion will include:

  • Definitions
  • Cross Connection Examples
  • Hazards of Backflow
  • Laws and Responsibilities
  • Fundamentals of Backflow
  • Case Histories
  • Methods and Mechanisms for Preventing Backflow
  • Testing Requirements
  • Record Keeping
  • Backflow Preventer Installations, Housekeeping, and Freeze Protection
  • Fire Sprinkler Systems
  • Thermal Expansion
  • Maintenance and Repair
  • Cross Connection Control Surveys
  • Backflow Prevention Programs

No examination will be given for this course.

Class size is limited to 12 persons at our on-site location. Class sizes will vary at off-site locations.

Daily breaks are scheduled and light refreshments are available for the students on-site.

Students must be present the entire course to receive a Certificate of Attendance. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH STUDENT TO INSURE THAT THEIR CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE IS SUBMITTED TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY WITHIN THEIR AREA OF EXPERTISE.
